Gestures
Learn the basic gestures to move, zoom, and rotate a 3D model in Foxar.
Foxar uses natural gestures to explore 3D models. They are the same on every device, with minor differences between touch screens and mice.
Essential gestures
| Gesture | Action |
|---|---|
| One-finger drag | Rotate the model around its center |
| Two-finger pinch | Zoom in or out |
| Two-finger drag | Pan the model on screen |
| Double tap | Center the view on the touched element |
Rotate the model
To inspect a model from every angle, rotate it around its center:
Touch: place a finger on the model and drag horizontally or vertically.
Web (mouse): hold the left button and move the mouse.
Web (trackpad): drag with one finger.
Zoom
Zoom lets you get closer to details or step back:
Touch: pinch (bring two fingers closer) to zoom out, spread them to zoom in.
Web (mouse): scroll wheel — up to zoom in, down to zoom out. No wheel? Hold Alt and drag with the left button — drag up to zoom in, down to zoom out.
Web (trackpad): pinch with two fingers.
Pan the model
Panning shifts the model in the screen plane without changing its orientation:
Touch: place two fingers on screen and drag them together.
Web (mouse): hold the right button and move the mouse.
Web (trackpad): drag with two fingers.
Center on an element
If you want to focus on a specific area (a crater on the Moon, an organ in a human body, etc.):
Touch: double-tap the element.
Web: double-click it.
The camera will smoothly move to center that element on screen.
You can also tap the Recenter button in the bottom-right of the player.
