Foxar Help

Compatible devices

Hardware and operating systems Foxar supports — iPhone, iPad, web, Android.

Apple devices (iOS, iPadOS, visionOS)

The Foxar app is compatible with devices running iOS 26 or later, including:

  • iPhones starting from iPhone 11

  • iPads starting from iPad 7 (2019)

  • All Vision Pro devices

On older models, you can use the web version of Foxar below.

Augmented reality

Every compatible device can display models in 3D. Augmented reality asks a great deal more of a device: it runs the camera, tracks the room and renders the model into it, all at once and continuously. Three cases exist.

Augmented reality runs normally

Recent iPhones and iPads, and every iPad with an M-series chip. Nothing to do.

Augmented reality runs, but the image may stutter

Devices with less memory or an older chip. The model appears and everything works, but the image is less fluid and the device warms up. The app tells you once, and you can carry on.

Viewing in 3D is smoother on these devices, and loses nothing of the lesson: the model is the same, only the room behind it is missing.

Augmented reality is not available

  • iPad (8th generation)

  • iPad Air (3rd generation)

  • iPad mini (5th generation)

On these models augmented reality stutters enough to get in the way of the lesson, so the app offers 3D instead. The button remains visible and explains why when you tap it.

These are also the iPads that Apple will not update to iPadOS 27.

Web and Android

For computers, tablets, smartphones, interactive whiteboards, and any other device — use the web version of Foxar. It works in any modern browser, no install required.
