Explore in 3D
Rotate, zoom, move and recenter the model.
The model answers the same gestures on every device, with small differences between touch screens, mice and trackpads. In the player, the ? button then Gestures and shortcuts shows the gestures of the device in hand, each with a short animation.
| To | On a touch screen | With a mouse | With a trackpad |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rotate the model | drag with one finger | drag with the left button | click and drag |
| Zoom | pinch with two fingers | scroll wheel | pinch, or scroll with two fingers |
| Zoom with one hand | tap, then put the finger back down and slide: up to zoom in, down to zoom out | ||
| Move the model on screen | drag with two fingers | drag with the right button | right-click and drag |
| Go back to the starting view | double tap | double click | double click |
Zoom stops at a minimum and a maximum distance, so the camera never gets lost inside the model. Zooming with one hand moves toward the point tapped first, and it does not start on a button or an answer of a quiz.
Back to the starting view
A double tap, or the Recenter button next to the bar, puts the model back in front of the camera as it was at the start.
With a keyboard
On the web, on an iPad, an iPhone or Apple Vision Pro with a keyboard, and on a Mac, the 3D view answers the keyboard too.
| To | Keys |
|---|---|
| Rotate the model | ⇧ + arrows |
| Move the model | W A S D, or Z Q S D on a French keyboard |
| Zoom | + or − |
| Zoom finely | ⌥ + + or −, or ⌥ + scroll wheel |
| Zoom by dragging | ⌥ + drag up or down |
| Go back to the starting view | 0 |
On Windows and on a Chromebook, Shift replaces ⇧ and Alt replaces ⌥.
Every key of the player, the Guide's included: Keyboard shortcuts.
Animated sequences
Some 3D models come with an animated sequence, played step by step from a bar of its own: Play an animated sequence.
On Apple Vision Pro
Move and turn the model: pinch, then move and turn the hand.
Make it bigger or smaller: pinch with both hands, then move them apart or together.
Press a button: look at it, then pinch.
Bring it to the front: the Recenter button in the dock, then pinch to place it.
If a gesture does not respond
On iPhone, system gestures (swipe up from the bottom) may take over if you start your gesture too close to the edge. Start gestures more toward the center.
On web, make sure the Foxar window has focus: click on it first.
Still not behaving? Let us know, with your device, your browser if you are on the web, and the model concerned.
