Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common questions about Foxar.
Account and subscription
No, not for the free models. An account is needed to subscribe on the web, and to find your subscription again on your other devices.
Yes. It follows your Foxar account, in the app and on the web. See Foxar+.
In the licence key settings. Once tied to your account, it follows you from one device to the next. See Foxar+.
Using Foxar
A downloaded model opens without a connection. On the web, a page you have already opened stays available.
Yes, downloaded ones do. Settings, then Storage, lists them and deletes the ones you no longer need. You can download them again later.
On the iPad 8, the iPad Air 3 and the iPad mini 5, augmented reality stutters enough to get in the way, so the app offers 3D instead. See Compatible devices.
Yes. Its buttons send Page Down and Page Up: the cards move forward or back, and a long card scrolls screen by screen first. See Keyboard shortcuts.
Yes, from the keyboard: the arrows move through the cards, Shift and the arrows turn the 3D model, + and − zoom, and Tab reaches every button. See Keyboard shortcuts.
On a device with less memory or an older chip, the camera, the tracking and the model at once are a lot to hold. Everything works, the image is just less fluid. Viewing in 3D is smoother, and the model is the same.
When something goes wrong
Most often the browser is too old. Check the minimum versions on Compatible devices, and update it.
On iPhone, start your gesture further from the edge of the screen. On the web, click on the Foxar window first. The other cases are listed in Explore in 3D.
